Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of accessbell.co, the free AccessBell website accessibility checker and any paid AccessBell services (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization.
1. The Services
AccessBell provides automated accessibility testing, reporting and related tools based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. The free checker analyzes a single public page on request. The paid Pro plan provides additional features as described on our pricing page.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Scan websites you do not own or do not have permission to test.
- Use the Services to attack, overload, probe or gain unauthorized access to any system, including by attempting to reach private networks or internal addresses.
- Circumvent rate limits, access controls or other security measures.
- Scrape, resell or redistribute the Services or their output without our written permission.
- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate access for any use we reasonably believe violates these Terms.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly at hello@accessbell.co of any unauthorized use.
4. Subscriptions, Trials and Billing
- The Pro plan is billed monthly in advance, per domain, and renews automatically until canceled. Payments are processed by Stripe; see the Stripe Privacy Policy for how it handles payment details.
- If we offer a free trial, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless canceled before then.
- You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.
5. Your Content
You retain all rights to your websites and content. You grant us a limited license to access and process the pages you submit or authorize us to crawl, solely to provide the Services.
6. Our Intellectual Property
The Services, including software, design, text and trademarks, are owned by AccessBell and protected by law. You may use reports generated for your websites for your internal and compliance purposes.
7. No Legal Advice or Guarantee of Compliance
The Services help identify accessibility issues but do not provide legal advice and do not guarantee that any website complies with any law or standard, such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Please read our Disclaimer.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, AccessBell disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AccessBell will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred U.S. dollars if you have not paid us.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold AccessBell harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Services or your violation of these Terms.
11. Changes to the Services and Terms
We may modify the Services or these Terms. If a change to these Terms is material, we will provide reasonable notice. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which AccessBell is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.
